The big concern heading into All Star Weekend was getting a backup point guard for John Wall. While a lot of attention was paid to Lou Williams and his instant offense Ernie Grunfeld and Tommy Sheppard instead turned their attention to Bojan Bogdanovic and all he's done upon arrival is throw daggers from deep and help the Wizards win some critical games.
Oh, in case you were wondering here's how the two players stack up so far...
It's not about the most made free throws in franchise history.
It's not about the .575% three point shooting.
What I've enjoyed most about Bojan is how quickly he has integrated himself into the Wizards lineup and you can tell the guys love playing with him.
The guy has been here less than a calendar month and has more nicknames than games played. That's certainly not what anyone thought Washington was going to get when the Wizards lost out in the Lou Williams sweepstakes but now, Ernie and Co. look like geniuses. As much of a genius as you can for cleaning up a mess you created. That's a different column on a different day though.
We are reasonable people over here at Hoop District so we understand that Bojan can't continue at this shooting pace but as evidence from John Wall's own mouth, from Bogie's own mouth, Bojan believes this is who he really is, he's just never been this open before.
Playing alongside Wall has that effect on people. The rest is up to the shooter. So far, Bo knows buckets.
