John Wall Didn't Appreciate Jae Crowder Touching His Face
Following the Celtics’ 118-107 home win against the Wizards last night, Washington point guard John Wall and Boston swingman Jae Crowder got into a minor post game scrap. Ironically, boxing champ Floyd Mayweather was in the house to witness the ticklefest.
After the final buzzer, Crowder and Wall exchanged some heated words, and eventually Crowder booped Wall on the nose like Jonah Hill in Superbad.
Wall didn’t take kindly to the gesture and slapped Crowder in the face like Rick James slapped Charlie Murphy at the China Club.
Wall quickly receded into the background as the players from both teams created a barrier between the two players.
It wasn’t a great fight, but it was still more exciting than Floyd Mayweather’s last 5 fights.
Srum Ensues After Wizards Lose To Celtics
WASHINGTON — The Wizards aren’t one of the more contentious teams in the NBA, but they’re also not known to back down. The Boston Celtics have a similar reputation. It also doesn’t help that the teams definitely don’t like each other.
Drake gets a little too close for Paul Pierce’s liking
"With 12 seconds left and the Wizards trailing the Toronto 95-93 on Wednesday, Paul Pierce prepared to inbound the ball in front of Canadian rapper and Raptors “team ambassador” Drake.
Drake’s buddies appeared to say something to Pierce before the referee handed him the ball. Pierce then gave Drake, who was standing a little too close for comfort, a gentle shove. Drake found this hilarious.
Twitter's Reaction to Ads on NBA Jerseys
The NBA announced Friday that sponsors will soon be able to get their ads on team jerseys.
National Basketball Association Commissioner Adam Silver says he understands there may be some dissension:
"It doesn't surprise me that some fans may say, 'I'd like to see the jerseys commercial free,'" Silver said.
He is right. Some do not like the idea.
However, the majority of the Twittersphere is not exactly against the idea, but they are making fun of it, using Photoshop to change the teams' names and jerseys to incorporate potentially relevant advertisers.
For example, the Minnesota Timberwolves was changed to the 'Tinderwolves' to advertise the dating app. The Lakers logo incorporates the 'K' of Kmart. Obviously this is not what they will actually look like, since the NBA states ads will just be a 2 1/2-inch square patch on the front-left side of the jersey, but it is still fun to fantasize about Sacramento Kings Hawaiian Jerseys or Steph Curry with a Chef Boyardee logo and a chef's hat on.
Here are some of the fan's clever creations:
Wizards Latest Team To Unveil Bandwagon Cam
Following in the footsteps of the United Center in Chicago, the Washington Wizards had a "Bandwagon Cam" that showed Miami Heat fans in attendance for Wednesday's game against the reigning NBA champions.
